This year’s show was exceptional due to good weather, solid attendance, the highest number of vendors ever, and excellent volunteers. This show would not be possible without quality exhibitors and the tireless efforts of industry volunteers and staff who dedicate countless hours to this undertaking.

“12,000 people attended the Ohio Forestry Association’s 66th Paul Bunyan Show.”

Training is one of the most important features of the Paul Bunyan Show and is critical to OFA’s mission of supporting the management of Ohio’s forest resources. There were eight Master Loggers who were recertified through training provided on Friday. Landowners were offered seminars throughout the day Saturday and Sunday, and sessions were -well attended. In addition, the public was able to watch safety and technical demonstrations provided by Husqvarna's team throughout the weekend.

Another important aspect of the show is how tangibly it demonstrates the scale of the forest products industry in Ohio. OFA had the opportunity to introduce several partner organizations like the Ohio Department of Agriculture, JobsOhio, Ohio Soybean Association, the Ohio House of Representatives and The Ohio State University Extension to how much forestry offers the State of Ohio. Explaining the $30 billion economic impact of Ohio’s hardwood industry only goes so far, but to see the impact in person makes an indelible impact. Ohio Forestry Association has a compelling story to tell, and we have the unique ability to showcase it at the Paul Bunyan Show.

Results
The winner of the Board Foot Contest was Dean Nisley of Millersburg. Dean guessed 3720 BF and that was exactly what was on the truck. Congratulations Dean! Half of the proceeds will go to the winner and the other half will be used to send a teen to Camp Canopy next summer.
